Greetings and welcome!
Many of you know me, and the rest of you soon will. You’re invited to be a part of my story during this season and witness the new chapter being written.
On this journey through the nations, we will encounter joys and sorrows, people and places, and simple yet profound moments. In them are found hidden treasures – the substance that makes the journey worth taking. May we discover these gems together as our stories intertwine over the next 11 months.
It is said the journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step…
For the first one, I’m excited to share a bit more about me.

” I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.” ~Psalm 139:14

Where do I even begin to share about myself….to blog about this journey? This thought has rolled around in my head for months now, and honestly, it’s been a bit paralyzing.
Start with today.
Hmm… I love that whisper of my Father’s voice in my heart. He always knows just what I need.
So here we are…today. So let me begin…
My name is Rebekah Ann. It means “firm-binding grace, mercy, or prayer.”
I believe names are important because they proclaim an identity on the one who bears them. As I journey through life, the truth of my name becomes clearer each day. God’s amazing grace and mercy are bound to me, and I to them. My prayer is that through me, grace and mercy may be bound to others.
Prayer. A powerful tool to effect change. Conversation with God, my heavenly Papa. He’s taught me much about prayer in the last five years, and I discovered that He created in me the heart of a warrior, especially through prayer. The more I understand His heart through His Word and conversations with Him, the better I’m able to partner with Him to pray His will to come on earth as it is in heaven.
I like to jump right in to the deep end, so stay with me, and we’ll get to the shallower waters…
I tend to be a deep thinker, and I love to learn more about God’s identity and mine in Him. What He says is the truest thing about Himself, about me, and about you, for that matter.
I love music and time spent worshipping the One who rescued me from darkness. I love to share Father’s heart with those who don’t yet know His goodness.
I treasure my friends and family. The love and support they give encourages me to keep going and helps me rise to my potential not yet realized.
I love to communicate and relish heart-to-heart conversations. Discovering a person’s story and the unique things that distinguish them from another is a fascinating past-time. Over the years, I have learned that everyone has something to offer if I choose to look through that lens of possibility.
Despite my serious side that strives for excellence and enjoys learning new things, I love to have fun, too.
I enjoy the great outdoors…camping, sunrises and sunsets, beaches, mountains, warm fires on cold nights, star gazing, and more. God is so creative. The earth displays this in a grand way from the sands of the sea, to butterfly wings, to sweeping scenic landscapes. Long walks or a good run in the cool, crisp air invigorate my soul.
I enjoy cooking. For me, it is therapeutic and a creative palate I enjoy exploring. I also enjoy trying new foods (almost anything at least once) which is a good thing considering the nations I will live in over the next year.
I enjoy sipping hot tea while curled up with a good book and snuggled with my sweet little Italian Greyhound dog, Bella. She has been a constant companion and source of comfort and laughter over the years.
I really like dark chocolate…the darker, the better.
Coffee is meant to be shared with someone special. It simply tastes better with good company…trust me.
Holding little babies and speaking God’s destiny over them warms my heart.
I have too many books to read, and not enough time to read them.
I end up laughing at myself at least once a day.
I once took lessons in Japanese swordsmanship…and loved it.
All those years of studying Latin really has come in handy in surprising ways.
Blue always has been my favorite color.
From serious to fun to random, this glimpse into my life is just the beginning. I hope you’ll continue to grow with me as we embrace all this incredible journey has to offer!
Peace and blessings to you and yours!
Bekah
