The excitement of being able to go on the World Race in October hasn’t diminished in the least – though it still feels so surreal, which I imagine will stay that way until I actually leave. I have been so humbled by all the love and support shown to me already, it is so encouraging and I thank you for your kindness.
While not trying to rush or be focused on October as opposed to living in the present, I know the months leading up to my departure will be a time of preparation, and I plan on enjoying and soaking in all it will entail.
I pray for continued preparation of my heart – that I may have a heart to love each person I encounter, a heart to serve with no reservation, a heart that will radiate the light of the glory of God with all I do, and a heart to die to myself and my selfishness daily in order that Jesus’s life will shine through me.
I also pray for preparation for the struggles that will be faced; being away from home and family, experiencing loss through the eyes of an orphan, seeing the brokenness that comes from lies believed by women who have been trafficked, witnessing the destruction caused by natural disasters, and feeling the emptiness of those who have given up hope. I pray for preparation that I will handle each thing with compassion, wisdom, and strength from the Lord, and that I will carry an unceasing joy through it all, continually praising and thanking Him – in the celebration and the pain.
This preparation will also be of building partnerships. Because ministry, and life, isn’t meant to be done alone. “Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.” -Ecclesiastes 4:12. I hope to build a cord of many, many strands of support that will hold strong and secure, and I would love for you to be a part of that!
I believe in the power of prayer and of sharing life with people. I would love for you to partner with me in this and to share in the ministry of the work of the Kingdom. I would like to invite you to be a part of a prayer team through this journey, walking with me from preparation to return. I invite you to join me in praying during this time of preparation and during my time on the field – for my heart, for His will to be done, and that I will walk in obedience to Him.
As I am expected to raise 16,961 in total to cover the costs of travel, lodging, food, and other expenses for the eleven months, I would also like to invite you to prayerfully consider supporting this journey financially. As a partner in this, your support would directly go to all that the Lord will do in the 11 countries that I will be serving in.
As of now, if everyone who has viewed my page gave $25, I would be fully funded (!!), how incredible is that?? It isn’t always about the amount of money given, but taking action and just giving. While the total is large, I am confident in the Lord’s provision and cannot say thank you enough in advance for you consideration, and for your already overwhelming support and love.
