Wow what a whirlwind the past week has been! This is our first time getting wifi since leaving America (which has actually been nice), but that’s why I haven’t been able to update you all on what has been going on. And I will not be using social media for at least 6 weeks, so if you have messaged me and I haven’t responded – I apologize, I’m not ignoring you. If needed, the best way to get in contact with me would be via email: [email protected]

With that being said, I’m in India AHHH! It is so crazy. I have to pinch myself sometimes for a reminder that this is actually real life. We had a few long days of traveling and finally made it to our site on Friday night. We were greeted with an incredible Indian meal and the most kind and loving hosts who have made our time here so enjoyable. Saturday and Sunday we were able to tour around the area we are living and see the different things our ministry partner is involved with as well as get some rest. I was in bed before 8pm multiple nights if that tells you anything. It helps that each morning starts with a cup of incredible chai tea and that every meal is delicious, and filled with lots of curry!

We are partnering with an organization called Bibles for the World who have a big presence in the area which is really neat to see. The people here are so friendly and helpful and welcoming, it has been cool getting to talk with them. We will be involved with different types of ministry during our time here – the past two days involved construction on expanding a church and helping finishing the dorms for the Trinity College & Seminary, where we are actually staying. We will also be helping out in the hospital and the school, doing more construction, and doing other stuff that we’ll find out as we go! Every day is an adventure, whether it is walking through the town trying to not get hit by cars, mopeds, and tuk tuks, riding in the back of a dump truck in the pouring rain, or attending a service in a completely different language. I am taking it all in and loving every bit of it.

It has rained a lot, there are lots of squatty pottys, we take bucket showers with cold water, sleep on the ground, and have to bat off a lot of mosquitoes, but man am I happy to be here. The Lord has been teaching me a lot and challenging me in my growth of becoming more like Him – and more of the person He made me to be. My team is awesome and I’ve loved our time together, it has also been so fun getting to be with all the people on my squad this month. These people are wonderful and have been challenging me and encouraging with my walk with the Lord in so many new and awesome ways. And this is only the beginning!

Thank you for your continued prayers and love. I know this is pretty brief and vague, I just wanted to inform you all of what has been going on thus far! I’ll share more soon. Please continue to keep us in your prayers as we continue to serve in India, love you all a lot!!
