Bolivia. Month 10.
We’ve been in the beautiful country of Bolivia in the city of La Paz for the past few days and it has already amazed me – with the rich culture and the beautiful people and even the crazy altitude (highest capital city in the world woo!).
For two of the days we’ve been here, we had a leadership development weekend with the whole squad which was such a wonderful time to be together, to celebrate what God did and is doing in Chile, and to share many of our gifts with each other in worship to the Lord. It was awesome. It was also a good time for our bodies to figure out this whole 12,000 foot altitude thing, it’s no joke.
Bolivia is going to be a special month for me and my team because we don’t have a host or any of our ‘needs’ set up for us by the World Race this month – no lodging, no food, no ‘standard’ ministry..we are told to ask the Lord, read Matthew 10, and just go for it, living off of a $10 a day budget for a combo of food, lodging, and transportation.
Sounds a little crazy, I know. Maybe even really crazy. But WHAT AN EXCITING ADVENTURE!!! To have a month where we literally get to depend on the Lord to meet all our needs, a month where we have to step out in faith to where He leads us and the people He leads us to, a month where we are able to grow in trusting His voice and taking risks in obeying what He is saying, and a month where we make ministry our own and choose it every single day with whatever opportunities God puts around us. We get to come alongside what the Lord is already doing in this country, and I get to do it with 6 amazing women. It’s so incredible.
Living out this kind of life has been something I’ve been learning more and more over the course of this journey, and it is a huge desire of my heart to live a life like this for my whole life forever, so how exciting that I am able to do that every single day this month – with whatever situation I may be in. It’s awesome!!!
I have already loved seeing how the BODY of Christ has come together and how the Lord has been speaking to me and my team’s hearts as we begin this month of dependence. & it gets me even more excited about what’s to come! Join us in praying as we set out with faith and expectancy – not knowing how the Lord is going to show up, but confident that He will. He just needs us to show up with open hands!
