As you may know, I am a senior at Clemson this year. And so, of course, the most common question of ‘what are you doing after graduation?‘ comes up quite a lot..much to my dismay, and that of everyone else in the same position. Up until now, I haven’t had much of an answer for that.
Throughout college, I have experienced the Lord’s faithfulness in times of doubt. I have encountered His healing in tough places. I have seen Him use brokenness to make something beautiful. I have been challenged to step outside my comfort zone. I have found my worth in who God made me. I have grown through pain. I have been made whole through Jesus’s love. He has continually been shaping me. And I am continually awed by His grace every single day.
Two important things about me is that I love Jesus and I love traveling a whole lot. So when Mackenzie Blum, a good friend from home, mentioned an organization that combines both of those as we were on the way to my sister’s college graduation in May 2014, I knew that it what I was going to do, and I’ve been praying about it ever since.
So, it is with much anticipation and immense excitement that I am thrilled to share with you that I have been accepted to go on the World Race in October 2016!!!
As stated on the World Race website: “The World Race is a stretching journey to 11 countries in 11 months to serve “the least of these” while amongst real and raw community. It facilitates discipleship through the process of discovering into the abundant life He promised. It is a challenging adventure for young adults to abandon worldly possessions and a traditional lifestyle in exchange for an understanding that it’s not about you; it’s about the Kingdom.”
Why the World Race? I desire to live in obedience to the Lord. And I want the light of my heavenly Father to shine through all I do to everyone I encounter – a constant display of His goodness and unfailing love. The World Race will provide me an opportunity to touch the corners of the earth while being dramatically stretched in my walk with Him. It doesn’t start or end with these 11 months – I am praying for it to be a lifestyle, forever.
Please join me in praying for this journey, all are welcome.
11 countries. 11 months.
Argentina. Bolivia. Peru. Chile. Swaziland. Botswana. South Africa. India. Nepal. Cambodia. Vietnam.
Wherever You lead, I’ll go.
