I was in the kitchen of my parent’s house this morning, finishing a glass of water before I headed out for the day, and I noticed a little picture and saying sitting on the windowsill. It read, “Hello. This is God. I will be handling all of your problems and concerns today. That’s my job. Your job is to give them to me, and then to trust me. Have a great day!”I smiled and walked out the door thinking, “That was cute…” but it just seemed to stick in my mind. After a few minutes I realized that was exactly what God was telling me.
In the past few weeks, I have been so worried about SO many things. How will I raise enough money? Will I have time to do everything before I leave? How will I pay my bills? Will someone ACTUALLY buy my car? SO many things kept running through my mind, and suddenly I realized that God had already taken care of all these things.
I believe with all my heart that God called me to the mission field, and has me exactly where I’m supposed to be. But my human nature is to worry and doubt about everything. But God simply wants us to trust Him. Yes, there are things that seem impossible, and things that will be terrifying or difficult to go through. But the act of going through them builds my faith and in my weakness, God’s power is shown. So bring on the challenges!
I am so excited to be embarking on this crazy, terrifying, AWESOME journey, and even more excited that you are choosing to support and experience this with me! I hope that things I share with you with help challenge you to grow in your faith as I continue to grow in mine. So, advice for today: don’t spend your time worrying about things. Spend every moment of your day TRUSTING that God is taking care of the details, and more importantly that God’s love is shining through you to everyone you see!
Love Always,
B
Philippians 4:6 “Do not worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need and thank Him for all He has done.”
