As most of you know, my plans for the next year of my life have drastically changed in the past few weeks. It has all happened so fast that most of my friends and family are left in the dark as to what is going on. So I wanted to take some time to answer some of the questions people have been asking, that you may be asking as well.
Q: What are you doing now?
Originally, as many of you know, I was planning on getting settled in a full-time job, move into my first apartment, and start grad school within the next year. Now, I have committed to spend 2012 serving on the mission field with a program called the World Race! (And I'm SO excited!) And until then I'm working as a Nanny & Nursery School Substitute Teacher ๐
Q: What is the World Race?
It is an 11 month, 11 country mission trip around the world in which I will serve as a part of a team of young adults (and live out of a backpack!). In each country, we will partner with churches and ministries to preach the Gospel, work in orphanages, minister to women and children trapped in human trafficking, evangelize, work on construction projects, and serve as needed in each community.
Q: How did you end up on the World Race?
For the past four years I've been studying at Dallas Christian College with a major in Missions and Youth Ministry. When graduation came around I was very unsure if I was ready to go to the mission field full-time at this point in my life or if I wanted to finish graduate school first. After almost a year of praying and seeking God's will for my life, this was the next door He opened. And so here I go, one year on the mission field, here I come!!! (And after getting a degree in Missions, you could say I'm pretty excited to USE it!)

Q: Are you sure you want to do this?
A: No! But I'm sure this is where God wants me, so I'm going anyway!
Q: Where are you going?
El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua, Malaysia, Thailand, Cambodia, Uganda, Rwanda, Tanzania, Nepal, and India (These are not in any particular order and are subject to change)

Q: What will you be eating?
In every country we will be eating what they normally eat. So it's going to be fun!
Q: Do you have to raise support?
YES! The total trip cost is $15,500, but I also have about $2,000+ (I'm still calculating) for other needs such as trip supplies (I definitely don't own ANY of the GEAR I need), vaccinations, international health insurance, etc.
Q: When do you leave?
I will be leaving on January 10th 2012 and I'll be returning around Thanksgiving of that year.
Q: How can I help?
In short, you can PRAY as my team and I prepare and as we are on the field.
Also, you can donate financial support ๐ (Any amount helps, seriously!) The easiest way, is to go to the left side of my blog and click "Support Me!" then you can easily make a donation online.
(More information on how you can help will be outlined in my blog, shortly)
Q: How can I keep up with your trip and ministry?
The BEST way is to go to the left side of my blog and click the SUBSCRIBE button! Here you can enter your email address and every time I update my blog with news, you'll get a beautiful email ๐
