Why the World Race?

I ENJOY my life. I have spontaneous ideas, big goals, and even bigger visions on my heart. I desire to switch
up the routine
… and DO it. It is engrained in my spirit that there is an entire WORLD to SEE and EXPERIENCE. I do not ever want to look back and feel like I missed out on an opportunity just because I chose to buy in to mediocrity. At 24 years
old, “The American Dream” is the furthest thing away from my thing.

I moved back to the Chicago suburbs and started a new full time 9-5 (actually 6-3) job last November. I said that I would do this job
for 1 full year, travel as much as possible, and live close to my new niece & family. Well, it’s
coming up on a year. In July, started looking at options for my next move in
LIFE. I didn’t know whether it meant simply a new job? a move to a different
location? Maybe get married? (to who? guess that ones out)

One night dream browsing on the Internet, I ‘stumbled’ across AIMS website.
I was instantly attracted to their most
EXTREME mission’s trip:
The
World Race. The more I read about it, the more I knew it was
a
PERFECT fit. The only way I can
explain what happened next is to say that there was a tug on my
HEART. After days of
consideration, it became
CLEAR to me that I needed to pursue this trip specifically.

‘Stumbling’ across the AIMS website happened for a
reason. God sometimes places his clues for us in subtle ways, so that we
can take them or leave them as we please. He wants HIS direction to be OUR
decision, as not to be forced.
I said if all the doors opened, I would do it… Well, Here I am! =)

Why The World
Race
fits Beka Fritz:

It is a year of ‘roughing it’ ADVENTURE & TRAVEL

It will challenge and mold my personality.

It is the ‘not selfish’ step for once.

It is WAY out of my comfort zone.

I have never taken the OPPORTUNITY to be part of a mission’s
trip before. I have grown up in the church and listened to countless testimonies of
how life-altering they are. A missions trip has
ALWAYS been something I was
wanted to do, but never seriously pursued it. I claim to be a
Christ follower, but have never had to
FULLY rely on HIM. My desire is for The World Race to test me and my FAITH in every way, and ultimately bring
my beliefs into
ACTIONS. I need to come alive in a radical way.

The World Race is the answer to my next venture of
many. What will come after?
Who knows, but it’s only going to get DeePeR & GreatER! =)
