So it’s been awhile since I’ve posted
anything. Here’s the latest…
Currently I am in Cape Town, South
Africa. We asked Jesus where He wanted us to go and this is where He
sent us. So here we are: an entire month on the beautiful southern
coast, beach in view from our home.
Many have asked about the ministry we
are DOing here and it is ‘JUST TO BE.’ It’s so easy to get wrapped up
in the ‘DOing’ aspect of Christianity, but all He really wants is the
relationship. We don’t have to DO things to earn His love nor to
impact the lives of others. It’s not about how busy we can make
ourselves by going to church, being involved in every church
activitiy, etc. It all comes down to our hearts and our RELATIONSHIP
with Jesus. You can DO all you want but is that really what a
relationship is? Too many times we get wrapped up in the DOing and we
walk right past our Father in the midst of our busy schedules and our
own agendas.
BE STILL AND KNOW THAT I AM GOD.
Our challenge was to stop DOing and
spend time BEing with Jesus…no Bibles, no journals, no
nothing…just the 2 of us. It’s like when we’re in love with someone
we don’t read a book about them (the Bible in this case), nor do we
sit and write down every word they speak to us, instead we find
satisfaction in BEing with them. I am learning how to be content in
the presence of the Lord. It almost sounds simple, however, it’s been
a struggle to even sit still somedays, let alone staying awake, it’s
getting better and now instead of it being pure torture for me to BE
still I’m actually enjoying spending time with the Man I love, Jesus.
For the first time in my life I can say I actually enjoy the
silence…or is it? 🙂
If we cut out all the DOing and start
BEing, quite possibly the concept of ‘religion’ could be flipped
upside down.
