I’ve always known that prayer was a
powerful thing. To know something and to fully believe it are two
different things, but when you actually put them into action
everything makes so much more sense.
Walking through the streets of Iquitos,
Kim and I met this woman named Sadit. As we spoke with her, a crowd
gathered around. She looked devasted and worn out, she had bags under
her bloodshot, squinty brown eyes that caused her a lot of pain.
There was a strong smell of alcohol around her and she hid something
underneath her shirt. We continued talking with her and soon began
praying for her. Something just didn’t seem right, so many
distractions around, I could barely even focus when I prayed as I
watched this thing she was hiding under her shirt spill all over her.
It was a bag of pure alcohol. We asked if we could take the bag from
her and she said yes. Then we soon guided her over to the sidewalk
where we sat down and I told her all about the love of Jesus.
Our eyes were locked, the kids were
still gathered around, something still wasn’t right, but I continued
telling her alcohol cannot bring her happiness, only Jesus can. There
was a cigarette (or something that you smoke) in her ear, we also
asked her if we could have that and so she said yes. She was still
very discombobulated and it got only more difficult to speak with
her. So she took us back to her home.
Not going to lie, but we weren’t sure
what the deal was. If there was a demon in her or what was happening.
We prayed as we walked to her house and also knew how powerful the
name Jesus Christ was. We sat in her home and talked with her. We
asked her if she knew who Jesus Christ was, she didn’t say much,
however she did have a picture of him hanging on the wall.
There on the shelf were a few packs of
cigarrettes. We saw them and asked her if we could take them. She
said “No, I need them at night when the demons come!” Continuing,
she told us about the demons that come to her at night in her dreams.
They fly in the house because there are no windows just open air. As
she told the story she’d come up so close to my face our noses were
almost touching. These things only really happened when she smoke or
drank. Unfortunatlely, the time came where we soon had to leave.
Before leaving, of course we prayed with her and asked her to make a
really important promise; that she would not smoke or drink the next
day. We needed to meet the ‘Real Sadit’ not the one locked up in
chains from alcohol and drugs.
That was Tuesday.

The next day was my off day, we didn’t
go to see her. Thursday, we didn’t go either. Ever since the time we
had seen her, we were both in constant prayer for her. We knew the
Lord had plans to set her free and we just had to be patient on that.
We prayed a lot a lot for her.
Friday morning ministry consisted of a
whole lot of prayer. The Holy Spirit was there, after a few hours
passed I really felt I should go visit Sadit. So Caroline and I went
since Kim was not there. Not really sure if we should be ready to
cast out a demon, or what was in store we went in boldness. When we
arrived there was a lady there who was happier than ever, she was
glowing with a huge smile on her face. It was Sadit!! It was amazing,
I was beyond excited without words to speak. She hadn’t drank any
alcohol or smoked since Tuesday. She was made new! The joy of the
Lord was written all over her!
so He could show off his masterpiece!
And she was so beautiful!
Oh Praise the Lord! That night she and
her husband came to church and we had a powerful service. There was
no coincidence of her being there, as someone shared his testimony
who struggled with the same thing. Sadit, beautiful woman of God is
now my sister in Christ! JESUS, Lord YOU ARE SOO GOOD! I praise you!!
Even Jesus prayed for his ministries,
and He’s Jesus! So of course we must cover everything in prayer, and
when we do lives are changed and the Lord is glorified!!! PRAY PRAY
PRAY your little heart out with faith! It’s a powerful thing!
