“All flesh is like grass
And all its glory like the flower of grass.”
So, I can’t do my World Race anymore.
Nothing ever truly prepares you for the Race. You could read dozens of blogs about it, talk to multiple of people who have been on it, go to a training camp for it but you can never be prepared enough for the reality of the Race. Now, this is different for everybody, but at some point you’ll realize while out on the Race you can’t do it anymore.
“The grass withers,
And the flower falls…”
When I realized that there was absolutely no way I could do this Race by myself, it was because my body was finally withered (aka, super virus took hold of my body) and any glory I held onto about how I could do the race, fell away. Having to stay home from ministry because you literally cannot move shows how very weak a person is, and that’s exactly how God showed me how very weak I am. I thought I could do this Race for 11 months, but I was very wrong.
“… but the word of the Lord remains forever.” – 1 Peter 1: 24-25
I was forced to realize that my Race was over for me, but the Race God had for me was just beginning. I don’t know what this World Race will look like, probably more tears shed than I ever thought, more love felt than ever before and more brokenness and being rebuilt than I ever thought possible. I don’t know what my next step will look like or who God will bring in my life next but I do know I literally need God to keep me breathing. I need Him to keep me moving.
“… for apart from me you can do nothing.”- John 15:5
The reality of the World Race is so very much different and I thank God for that. The Race I had planned for myself was nothing compared to what God’s Race for me. When God called me to go on this thing, it’s not so He could use me, it was to wreck me completely to be more like Him. It’s so when I walk into a room, no one see’s me, but Him.
Because apart from Him, I can do nothing.
Next update will be about the ministry in India!! Less than a week and my team and I will be heading to Nepal! God is up to some crazy things. Thank you all for your support!
