Hi! My name is Becky Houston!
And I am first and foremost a daughter and servant of Christ!
I was born and raised in Lake Orion, MI with my two older (and pretty fantastic) brothers, Dave and Tim (whom I lovingly refer to as Dabid and Timmy).

My parents are wonderful, I wish I had better words to describe how great they are! They have been and still are my support, my role models, my cheerleaders, my encouragers, and they most definitely keep me level-headed.
I am beyond blessed by my family (immediate and extended), for the love, care, and support they constantly show me. And most importantly, they always point me to Christ. I love them beyond words.
I cannot begin to thank four of my closest friends – Marissa, Kayla, Kortney, and Ashley – for their constant prayers and words of encouragement in not only this adventure, but every other area of my life as well. God has blessed me tremendously by their friendship.

As I write this I am currently staring at my final semester of my undergrad at Cedarville University, but enjoying a much needed and long-awaited Christmas break. When I walk across the stage in May I will be graduating with a B.A. in History and minors in Bible, Political Science, and Women’s Ministry.
I love Northern Michigan, but specifically Camp Barakel! I am grateful for the two summers that I was able to serve there and the many changes that sprouted from them. Serving “Where God has Blessed” has impacted my walk with Christ in ways I cannot even describe.
I am addicted to smiling,
and the inevitable laughter that usually follows…seriously though, I laugh at everything 🙂
My favorite color is yellow,
and I love mornings!
I wish life were a musical, and I sometimes make it into one 🙂
I enjoy a good cup of coffee,
playing the piano,
star gazing,
books,
and attempting to play the guitar and banjo.
I’m fascinated by lighthouses,
Christmas is my favorite holiday… along with the 4th of July,
and I’m definitely a traditions person.
I seize every opportunity I can to scream at the top of my lungs while being thrown through the air at top speeds – Cedar Point is a great destination.
I like movement:
volleyball, wallyball, running, swimming, hiking, and all forms of camp games;
but I also like stillness:
sitting, watching, listening.
Nature calms my soul like nothing else:
the rhythm of waves on the beach, the array of colors displayed in sunrises and sunsets, early morning calls of birds in the Spring, a gentle breeze sweeping across my face, the quietness of snow under a dark blue sky littered with stars, or the crunch of vibrant leaves under my feet.
I love listening to, watching, and breathing in the creativity of the awesome Creator I serve.
I beam at His show of affection for me, I’m awed at His desire and action to save me; His grace draws me to my knees. I love the way He carries me, and the way He teaches me. I desire His hands to be constantly molding and shaping me into His likeness.
I am His.
