Milagros
I think that I connected with Milagros the most. She is spunky, crazy, loving, dramatic, broken, scared all in one. She has had a rough past. She was abandoned by her mother and left to be raised by her police officer father. Her step mother tried to poison her three times, after becoming pregnant because she was raped by her father’s friend, her father threatened to kill her three times if she didn’t get an abortion. She cuts her skin because she has so much emotional and psychological pain.
Even with all of that Milagros met me daily with a huge smile on her face. She let me love her and encourage her. She has my heart and this is a letter she left me.
The letter translates to:
You know you were a great blessing in my life, you made me laugh out loud, you counseled me, and I want to tell you it was a big step for me to tell you my story because it was something very bad in my life and I want you to know you inspired confidence in me since the first day I saw you and I want you to know that I love you very much. I want you to know that I got a good grad on my test because I wanted you to be proud of me and I was very happy when mami Gracie celebrated that I got a 92 out of a 100 in my test. Thank you for everything and I love you very much.
