For most of the race all my blogs have been about the amazing things God has done on this trip or about the places I visited, or the people I’ve met and that’s all great but sometimes the race is hard. These last two weeks have been rough.

Last week my tent got flooded and everything got wet and smelled horrible. My sleeping pad (my favorite item on this race) smelled so bad. My bible was ruined when my tent was flooded. Then we arrived to Nicaragua the church we were staying at flooded and my sleeping pad was soaked again. The next night it happened again.

When we arrived at our church for the month I saw that the ground was wet, no real windows, and no fans. The bathroom is in the Pastor’s house, etc.

With all this said it is so easy to have a negative attitude about it all. It’s easy to get upset and forget about the real reason why I came on this trip.

I did not come to feel comfortable, I did not come to always have it easy. When I came on the race I came with the only hope of being able to spread the message of salvation to others. To let people know that Christ humbled himself and came on this earth to die for us so that we can be saved. If it means getting a little wet and sweating a lot then so be it. I’m just happy that I have the opportunity to tell people about Jesus, that I have the opportunity to help someone in need, the opportunity to put a smile on someone’s face.
