We have been blessed with an incredible host church,
Iglesias Templo Cristiana Assembleas de Dios
On day one, they set us up an amazing home in the "Apartment" next to the church. When we arrived there was only one bed, but when we came back from visiting the church, there was one for each of us! There was a bathroom, and they made us a kitchen, completely stocked with groceries.
Well today is our third day here, and after the church service this morning, we were asked if we would want to move to the Pastor's house. There are a few different gangs here in La Libertad, and (to what we can understand) they found out that we were going to be staying there. So for safety reasons, we moved to the pastor's home today. They dismantled all of our beds and brought them with us, had lunch waiting for us when we arrived, and then spent about an hour trying to figure out the wireless box so we could let our families know we were safe.
We could not be more blessed this month in El Salvador.
They love that Pat can sing and play the guitar. He has already performed in two services, and has learned almost a full song in Spanish.
They serve drinks in bags. The locals drink them out of the bag with a straw. They suggested we pour them into a cup because we don't know the best way to do it without spilling.
They were right. Purple-drink EVERYWHERE.
And of course, I have already found dogs to love on. This is just one of the many.
