“And my God will supply all your needs according to His riches
in glory in Christ Jesus. Now to our God and Father be glory forever and ever.”
Philippians 4:19-20

As I have been praying over the last week for my trip, my fundraising and my preparations, I have become very aware of how often I ask for God’s help.

I ask God to help me as I speak to others about my trip.
I ask God to help me acquire all the funding.
I ask God to help me as I prepare.

But I shouldn’t be asking for help at all. Asking for help implies that I am doing it, and he is assisting me. That isn’t the case at all.

I am his servant. I am here to do his will. I am going on this trip to help him, to change his world, for his eternity. I don’t need his help; I need him. I am not doing anything; he is doing everything through me.

I need him to grant me the words to speak to others about my trip.
I need him to stir hearts to acquire funding.
I need him to prepare me.

That is my prayer.

“How this is the confidence we have before Him: whenever we
ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears
whatever we ask, we know that we have what we have asked Him for.”
1 John 5:14-15
