So last week, my mom got to visit me for a week in Romania. The trip was called Parent Vision Trip(PVT). It was a week long where the parents get to come out to the field and see what life on the race looks like for their racers.
It was SOOO good to see my mom. We had such a great week together.
_____________
Here are some questions I asked her before PVT to understand her perspective on the trip.
1.) How are you feeling going into PVT week?
I am feeling very excited to see YOU! However, I am also feeling a little stressed out about packing (you know me…I always feel stressed about what to take) and about traveling that far without Dad. :-(.
2.) What is one thing you are looking forward to?
Seeing you. Meeting the other racers that have been with you on the journey. Seeing a new country. Helping others.
3.) What is one thing you are nervous about?
Hmmm….not really nervous about anything except for traveling by myself a bit. Maybe nervous about staying with a family that i don’t know and maybe they won’t speak English???
4.) What is something you hoping to gain from this week?
Deeper insight into your world that you have been living. Connections with people.
___________
After PVT, to understand my mom’s point of view, I asked her some follow up questions:
1.) How are you feeling after PVT week?
VERY JET LAGGED!!! But so thankful that I had the opportunity to go and see you and experience your team and your environment so I can understand better what you are going through….and meet the people who are important to you.
2.) What was your favorite part about PVT?
Seeing you! Meeting new people, having new experiences, seeing how different people worship and believe in God. Loved the kid’s ministry.
3.) What is something you learned?
See above…how other parts of the USA worship God and pray and believe. Very different than how I am used to now and even how I was raised in the Presbyterian church. Learned more about your environment which helps me a lot. Also learned more what Orthodox vs. Protestant means.
4.) How did God speak to you during PVT week?
Was very evident that God had a hand in Dad not coming. HE knew what was best on that! To have a gentler voice and heart towards others. And that differences can be opportunities.

Thanks mom for your sacrifice for coming half way across the world to see me. It was such a fun time. I love you!
UPDATE: My squad and I, are traveling tomorrow to AFRICA! I am so stinking excited. Please be praying for safe travels and our last 3 months of this Race.
Thank you,
B
