Well…. I just said my last goodbyes…. Man, that was harder than I was expecting…. not going to lie. I shed not a few, but A LOT of tears.
I was showered with love and blessings at my going away party last Saturday where friends and family gathered at my house to see me before I embark on this 11-month mission trip. I felt so supported and loved and I want to thank everyone for coming! (*Keep scrolling for a video I put together from the party*)
How do you say goodbye to people you love for 11 months? So much can happen in 11 months. So many “ifs”, and events and celebrations that I will miss. However, I know that 11 months will fly by and before long I will be headed back home with a FULL backpack of experiences to share.
I have never done anything like this. Going on the World Race and saying goodbye to my loved ones is probably…no I take it back… it is actually the hardest most challenging thing I have ever done. AND I haven’t even left the country. WOW! I am in for a ride.
As I board my plane, I cling to my faith and trust that God will protect and guide me this next 11 months.
Thank you everyone for your love and support. It means so much to me and has made my departure possible.
As for logistics, I fly to Atlanta first (on the 5th). There I meet my team and do some last-minute preparations. Then, as a team, we fly out on the 9th of October and land in Belize on the 10th.
Please be praying for a safe journey to our first country and a smooth transition into our new home for the next month.
Thank you.
