Hey everyone!

Well I’d like to update you and let you know that I’ve made it to BELIZE safe and sound. We are staying in the capital: BELMOPAN. In relation to Belize City, it is inland about an hour and a half. We are staying with a ministry in Belmopan called Basecamp Belize. The short on this ministry is that it partners with other local organization to help people in the community. (The long is to come in a future blog post or video!!) Our hosts name is Miss Mona and she is super sweet. She is actually from Leavenworth, WASHINGTON! Wow so cool!!

Miss Mona’s house here in Belize is very nice. She has a building for herself and a building for us girls that has two rooms with bunkbeds for each of us. We have two bathrooms with running water and flushing toilets. We also have a room that serves as our outdoor kitchen where we cook and eat our food. It is a very nice place to stay. I am very thankful.

Our weeks look like this:

Monday-Friday:

– Ministry: We have 4 hours of ministry each day. That looks different from day to day and week to week here in Belize.  (e.g. Friday we went to a local school and organized some books in their library, painted a wall of the school, and played with kids.)

– Team Time: This is a time where we get together in our teams for an hour and give each other uplifting or constructive feedback from the day. We also do team bonding activities during this time.

– Dinner: I am living with two other teams this month (19 girls total) and so we rotate who makes dinner each night. But, we all eat together. Which is super fun!!

(I Painted These Hearts!!)

(A little girl I met at the school named Rebecca too!)

Saturday:

– Adventure day: This day is for us to be tourists!! We get to go have fun as a team and explore the country.

– Food: We are given $4.50 per day to buy our own food. Sometimes we buy food and cook at the house, or we will go out to eat. (the currency in Belize is the Belize Dollar and it is worth twice as much as the USD…SO 4 USD equals 8 Belize Dollars)

(Our first adventure day was spent swimming at the Blue Hole National Park.)

Sunday:

– Rest and Relax: This day is Sabbath. We get to use it how we want to, BUT it is supposed to be something that is relaxing to you individually.

– Food: Same as Saturday!

(Our relaxing day was spent at a pool, cooling off with a nice refreshing drink)

I hope this schedule give you a good explanation of what my time here in Belize is looking like.

Below is a video I put together of the few days I was in Atlanta for WR Launch leading up to leaving for Belize. Enjoy!

Love you all and thank you for reading.
