Friends, family, and other fabulous people:
Hello there! For those of you who don’t know me, my name is Becca Clark. I am 24 years old(getting all too near 25). I run on coffee and Jesus. I’m a Michigander, extremely passionate about pretty much anything and everything in my life(especially working with KIDS, God has given me a serious heart for children). I like to workout as much as I like to eat, I’m extremely energetic and upbeat.
Summer of 2016 I told Jesus, “I’m ready and willing to do whatever you want me to do and go wherever you want me to go. If it’s across the country or Africa. I don’t care. I just want what YOU want for me. No matter what that means.” It was my version of “Here I am send me.”
During this ‘Land Between’ process, God really enabled me to rely on Him and continue to take steps of faith. Including leaving ‘my everything’ in November of 2016, the city I loved(Grand Rapids)and move back across the state, to the little town I grew up in. I struggled and prayed over and over again pressing God to show me what this was all for, what’s next, what happens now. About a month later He did just that. Through a crazy set of circumstances I was told about this amazing mission, I applied, and was accepted on The World Race through Adventures in Missions and I leave October 2017!
So what is the World Race? Fabulous question! The World Race is an 11 month mission trip where I will spend each month in a different country. During that year, I will live out of my backpack and possibly live in a tent at times. I will be traveling to each country with a large group and will be doing ministry with a smaller group or ‘squad’ once in each country. We will receive training for 10 days in August. One of the unique things about the World Race is that it’s not only a mission trip but also an intensive discipleship program designed to launch my generation into our specific kingdom calling. I am excited to grow in ways I can’t even imagine right now!
Where will you be going? I will begin my journey in Chile, then on to Bolivia, Paraguay/Argentina, Cambodia, Thailand, Serbia, Romania, Bulgaria, Ethiopia,Rwanda, and lastly, Uganda. Changes may occur on locations as life happens and unexpected situations may occur, but this is the initial course for the trip.
What kind of missions will you be doing? Honestly, I can only speculate at this point. Other World Racers I’ve talked to or read blogs that they have written say they have partnered with churches and ministries in local communities to preach the Gospel, work with planted church organizations, worked in orphanages, ministered to women and children trapped in prostitution as a result of human trafficking, and brought the restorative hope of the Father’s love to many people of all different cultures and backgrounds.
What can I do to help? God calls all of us to go and spread the Gospel and share His love. You may not be able to drop everything and go to another country to share the Gospel with people, but I can. By supporting me to go on this trip you are part of my team, part of this mission, without YOU this wouldn’t be possible. To support me on this mission trip you can:
1) Pray! God works through prayer. Pray that my team and I are preparing the way we should through deepening our relationships with Him. But also pray that we will have protection and that the hearts and minds of the people with whom we will be coming in contact will be ready and softened.
2) Read and Follow! I so want you all to enjoy and follow me along this journey! I can’t wait to share all that God is doing in my life, my team’s lives, and the lives of those we will be ministering to. Make sure to subscribe to my blog and follow me on social media to stay in the know!
3) Donate! This is definitely the biggest hurdle for me to overcome. By January of 2018, I have to have raised roughly $18,000. That averages roughly $1,500 a month over the next year. That money will cover airfare, transportation, housing, insurance and food once I am on the race- so pretty much everything but money for personal needs so that we can focus on doing missions.
You can make a one-time donation or make a monthly donation pledge. All donations are tax deductible. Included is a donation card and a list of ways you can donate. (or if you’re reading the blog version, you can donate by clicking on the DONATE button on the right hand side ofthis blog!)
Thank you SO much for taking the time to learn a little about me, my heart, and this amazing mission! I look forward to sharing this journey with you and covet your prayers! I can’t wait to see all the BIG and AMAZING God things that are going to take place!
Blessings Always, Becca Clark
