In my last few blogs, I’ve mentioned that this month of the Race is called “Ask the Lord” month. Instead of being connected with a ministry, our team prayed and asked God to send us where and to whom He wanted. This month was full of freedom, possibilities, and gray outlines for the future- all things I love.
For future Racers who are curious as to what “Ask the Lord” month looks like, I can promise it will be unique to your team and where you’re called. Have a flexible heart that embraces the unknown, because the entire month will be.
We spent the beginning of the month in the mountain city of Boge, Kosovo. In Boge we focused on prayer, fasting, and building a relationship with a family we met. Please be praying for their grandmother as she is very sick!
Before we left, we were given contact information for an American Christian bakery in the city. Although the bakery was closed, the family set us up with lodging and projects for our team in Peje.
In Peje, we weeded a jalapeno farm and helped our new American friends pack up their bakery and home for a move. We’ve become quick friends with this family and shared stories of faith as well as laughter over their table, which was full of delicious food we’ve missed like pizza, hamburgers, homemade cookies, and jalapeno french fries.
This family helped us contact their friend, Agnesa, in the capital city of Kosovo, and for the past few days we have been working with Agnesa in her cafe called Sonder. I was able to put my barista skills to good use during busy lunch hour rushes. Agnesa and her family also have a westie, which is a comfort as I miss my dog back in Wisconsin.
Thank you to everyone who has prayed over our Ask the Lord month! We leave for a week in Greece tomorrow and will then head into month 8 of the Race, Bulgaria. Please continue to pray for our team.
UPDATE: $550/$1000 have been provided for my computer! I am so grateful for all donations. THANK YOU to everyone who has contributed. Please prayerfully consider donating at the link below. My goal is to be funded by my birthday on August 12th.
Thank you so much for your support!
