“There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven.”
-Ecclesiastes 3:1
This month, going into Malaysia, our squad went through more changes than just a change in country and ministry. We have squad leaders from our squad who will lead us on the rest of the race and we have new teams. My team is now Andrea, Rachael, Nadia, Celeste, and two new teammates, Ashley and Julie. We were blessed to live with Ashley and Julie in Thailand so we have had the chance to live with them. For me, team changes were exciting but at the same time made me sad. I love my teammates and, as anyone can imagine, after spending all waking hours with a group of people you can get really close. I am sad that Lynn and Jacquie are not on our team anymore, but I am trusting that God has bigger plans in this.
For me, I am so blessed to have been on Jacquie and Lynn’s team and they are going to bless the people they are on a team with now. I am blessed to have Ashley and Julie on my team because they can help me grow and I can do the same for them. I am blessed to still have my other teammates. With every new season comes new blessings and the awesome thing is that a new season doesn’t take away from the previous season, it only adds more blessings. We are always sad when a particularly awesome season ends, but that’s a blessing too! How awful would it be if I left my team for the past three months and I wasn’t sad at all? That would mean that we had not grown close or formed any kind of relationship. God understands when we are sad and our new teammates understand the bittersweetness of team changes because they are feeling the same way.
Basically, I am excited for what is coming, but I know that whatever happens, I am so thankful for my first team, team Charis! Ooh, ooo!!! I love these girls a lot. I’ve laughed with them a lot, cried with them a lot, and shared a lot with them. And I’m going to keep sharing with them as well as with my new teammates. Hello new season! Season of team Agape!
