It takes courage to grow up and become who you really are. E.E. Cummings
Dear Tulsa,
When I first met you, I didn’t really like you. I was naïve and thought I knew what I wanted and, at the time, I knew I didn’t want you. However, after some adjustment, I fell in love with you. I love the people I have met because of you and I love how they have shaped my life and taught me more about the person I want to be in Christ and about how God can work through and live in people. You taught me how courageous I can be if I trust in God. I grew so much while I was with you. I have a bigger family because I met you, Tulsa, and I am so thankful for that. I don’t know where I would be without knowing you. The people you put in my life and the experiences we have had together have been the most unexpected blessing I have ever had.
Recently, I had to say good-bye to you, Tulsa. But it wasn’t really a good-bye; it was a see you later. When something and someone (meaning someones) affects you as deeply as you have affected me, it is never a good-bye. I wouldn’t be going on this trip if I had not spent the last four years with you Tulsa. I would not know what the World Race is and I would not have been a person whose heart was open to going if I had not met you. So, thank you from the bottom of my heart. I’m so excited to see God work this year and I’m excited to take a part of you on the journey with me and tell you about everything when I return. Keep doing great things while I’m gone. God is working in you in amazing and new ways every day.
Much love,
Becca
P.S. Thank you for beautiful sunsets and awesome coffee that I got to enjoy with awesome friends.
