So, I know it has been a while since my last blog. I apologize for not writing anything. I was having a hard time thinking of something to write about not because nothing was happening, but because so much was happening and all of it was normal to me. Yes, travelling around the world, not staying in any place longer than a month, having all that I own strapped to my back, and being a part of a family of 55 is my normal. I’m so lucky to have this opportunity and I don’t want to take any moment of it for granted and I don’t think I am, however I know that this is my normal now so it is harder to see what would be exciting for y’all to hear about. So the next couple of blogs are me catching you up on the last month and a half. Please prepare yourselves because it is going to be crazy.

When we first came to Malawi we met with a former World Racer who stayed in Malawi after his race to do ministry. One thing he said that stuck with me is that every person who goes on the World Race is there for a different reason and is at a different point in their spiritual walk. We, as squad-mates, teammates, or blog readers can do one of two things:

1. We can judge the person for where they are at because we think that they should be thinking, feeling, believing, or experiencing something else
or
2. We can say “Amen to where they are at.”

I think all of us can tell which one is probably the better choice, even if it isn’t always the easier choice, even if it isn’t always the easiest choice.

There are people on this race who are here to find the mission God is calling them to.

There are people on this race who are being healed from something that has affected them their whole lives.

There are people on this race who are here so God can break down the box they have put Him in.

There are people who will have more impact on their squad-mates than anyone they meet in another country.

There are people on this race who are bringing friends and family members to Jesus by blogging about what He is doing thousands of miles away from home.

And we need to say “Amen!” to that. We need to be excited for every one of them because the Lord is working through all of it. This is something that is so true that I had never thought of before. I’ve always struggled with comparing myself to others and what they are doing because I could see how well they were doing and, if I did the same things it meant I was doing well too. BUT THAT ISN’T IT AT ALL! We are all created for something different and God wants us to listen to him and what he has for us, not what everyone else wants us to do. This also means that we need to support our brothers and sisters when they are doing what God has called them to do. This means not thinking about “the right thing.” Our society has a lot of “right things” that have nothing to do with what God wants us to do. My challenge to you is to support your brothers and sisters around you:

Know where they are at spiritually, emotionally, physically,

Help them when they are in need,

Call the Spirit up in them,

And, the most important thing: LOVE THEM!

If you are wondering how to do these things or what God wants you to be doing with where you at right now, I encourage you to talk to Him right now and ask Him. Then, go to your Bible and start reading about what he has for all of us. He has told us what to do and how to support each other; we just need to take time to listen.
