Our last night in Guatemala as a squad we held a worship session that was a little different than just singing songs in worship. This night we were encouraged to write our own songs or psalms with the Lord, so I want to share what I felt like the Lord laid on my heart that night. I shared it with my team and now I want to share it with you!
Withholding nothing
You ask for it all,
But like a child I yell “MINE!”
My heart wants to give you so much more but my flesh says “NO!”
I look into your eyes and see the pain I create,
I want to run and hide but you reach out and grab my hand.
With tears running down your face,
You ask for all of me again.
And again selfishly say NO!
You see it on my face, I’m scared, I’m worried, I struggle to trust you,
But again you pull me closer.
You are kind, you are patient, and again ask for it all.
Ashamed, embarrassed, I reach out and give you pieces.
Pieces of a heart that was once whole, pieces of a heart that was once truly free.
And I can’t even look at you in your face.
But you lift my head with tears running down your face with eyes of compassion and you speak.
Words that I expected to be harsh, to be mad, but instead you’re kind.
You’re words are full of compassion. You call me names like daughter/son and prince/princess.
You stand and reach out your hand to lift me up,
I’m scared, I’m afraid to trust.
But I choose to stand. You pull me close and begin to dance with me.
Step by step we begin to sway.
You pull me close and whisper things like “I love you”, “you are mine”, “I am proud of you”
And slowly my heart starts to beat again. Step by step my legs become stronger and still you hold me close.
You don’t let me go.
You tenderly continue to lead me in this dance.
You continue to love me and speak so carefully to my heart.
You repeat over and over “I love you” ,”you are mine”, “I am proud of you”
I start to stand straighter, the tears stop falling and laughter begins to rise from within.
Until we are moving faster and faster around the dance floor.
While laughter fills the air.
My heart becomes more and more,
Until it is overflowing with goodness, truth and joy.
And then in the shadow you shine light on another one, who’s sitting in the dark.
You lead me to invite them in,
To speak life into their heart,
To invite them into the goodness so they can enter the dance with the Father.
And again another and another, you lead me to invite them into dance with the Father.
He sees, He knows, He loves.
So here’s your invitation to join the dance with the Father. Jesus is so in love with you. There is nothing you can do good or bad to change His love for you.
I believe that Jesus is God’s son. I believe Jesus came to earth and died for my sins. I believe on the third day He rose again into Heaven. By His death and resurrection, He has opened up invitation for each of us to have eternal life.
He doesn’t expect you to have it all together, or to be prefect. He just wants you to give your heart over to Him. So I encourage you if you’ve been reading my blogs and following this crazy God journey I’m on, or if this is the first time you’re reading my blog, I want to give you the opportunity to accept Jesus into your life! Or if you say to yourself..I used to believe in that but it’s just been too long I feel too far away. I invite you to pray with me today too! He’s still after your heart and wants relationship with you too!
The Bible says “Confess with your mouth Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart, you will be saved” Romans 10:9
Just say this simple prayer out loud wherever you are today:
Dear Lord,
Today I come to you because I want to have eternal life through your son. I confess and believe that Jesus is your son. That Jesus died on the cross for my sins and on the third day He rose. I confess before you that I’m not prefect and ask that you forgive my sins. I am inviting you to live inside my heart today and forever.
In Jesus name. Amen!

we are currently living in Malaysi-month 5!!whhat?!? This month will be a lot of teaching, preschool, English and morals! So keep my new team in your prayers as we begin to grow together as one unit and continue to teach within this city!
