whhhaatttt! Where has the time gone!!
I have to say I am super encouraged, by all the love and support each of you have shown during this preparation time! From those who have believed in me and have given from support letters, to our envelope fundraiser, to my $27 for 27! THANK YOU!!!
Saying thank you just doesn’t do it justice! There have been moments when I just want to simply bawl my eyes out because I am so beyond excited and blessed by each of you. And it goes far beyond just the $$ amount, also the prayers, support and words of encouragement!
I know my other blogs have been extra-long lately,(sorry/not sorry hahaha) so I will definitely try and keep this short and sweet. Just wanted to do an update on what my life looks like recently.
I have been really focusing on trying to process through what I really need and get equipment planned out.
I ACTUALLY JUST BOUGHT A SLEEPING BAG!!!!! EEEKK YAY!!!
This past weekend, I attended a conference where I heard different missionaries, evangelist and other guest speakers. It completely stirred my heart!! I was having some issues of fear, and just totally accepting that I was actually leaving for the Race; but after this weekend the Lord is so kind and loving when He speaks. He confirmed SO many things for my future. I finally laid down my fears, and fully accepted His call. I am at SUCH PEACE!!! I feel like new life has risen up inside of me, whenever I think about the Race I get butterflies and true excitement fills my heart!!
Someone posted the other day we have 11 weeks until training camp! That knocked the breath out of me a little bit, but in a good way! (I think hahaha).
SOOOOO…What’s next?!?!
The Lord has been really calling me to deeper level of intimacy. I am learning to listen closer to Him and follow Him into new areas. One thing He has been teaching me is to live in transparency. Which is kind of a scary word for me, but I’m choosing to move forward. (Another blog to come with that)!
I am still in need of a few more larger pieces of equipment (tent, day pack, and ext.). So hopefully in the next few weeks, I will be purchasing those things! (Unless anyone so graciously wants to purchase and donate them to me!!—not going to lie it’s a struggle to ask for help, but I’m learning the worst people can say is no!)
And lastly, I have some fundraisers that are currently in the works!!
The envelope fundraiser is still going on. Kennedi Huff (another racer who is leaving in September route/// follow her Kennedihuff.theworldrace.org) and I still have a few envelopes left! You pick a number and fill it with that amount super easy. It ends this Sunday. (May 29th).
Battle of the Arts THIS FRIDAY!!!! This event is being put on by Streetlight Christian Project. There are many different local artists who will be preforming for cash prize!! The admission is $7 in advance and $10 at the door. That money will go directly to me and another missionary in our church Devon. (She’s a missionary in Ethiopia! Check out her non-profit Habesha Momma). We will also have opportunity to sponsor a child with Food For the Hungry!! Come out and support not only local artist but missionaries!!!!
I HAVE T-SHIRTS!!!! I am currently selling shirts for $20. They are orange with a white logo! I am totally blessed by my youth pastor who created the logo for me!!! These shirts run from small to 2xl! (Unisex sizes) Please let me know if you would like a shirt. Sizes are limited, but more can be ordered if needed. I should have them in fairly soon!
