Helloooooo blogging world!
I am by no means perfect. But I am very much a perfectionist. This trait has felt like a burden as I have struggled significantly writing this “About Me” section. I am not a fan of talking about myself, asking others for help, oh, and of course writing! I feel very out of my element, but I know that this race is about a world bigger than my comfort zone. However, I take pride in giving 100% at whatever I do, so please bear with me as I strive to grow as a radical warrior for God and also as a new blogger/author.

Getting a little deeper…
I am a very active and adventurous 23 year old from the small town of Valley Center, CA and have been working as a personal trainer and substitute teacher. I was blessed to be born and raised in a Christian household with two incredible parents and one very outgoing, beautiful younger sister.

I had the privilege of traveling through Kenya on a 3 week mission trip as a junior in high school. It opened my eyes to see there are so many hopeless and forgotten people in the world with a desperate need to know Jesus Christ. This ignited the fire in my soul to want to do something to help them.

After a year and a half of junior college, I received a scholarship to play Division 1 softball at Central Connecticut State University as their starting center fielder. (Side-note…it’s ironic I’m any sort of athletic for how unbelievably klutzy of a person I am. I’m serious, it’s a problem!) From there I earned a degree in Exercise Science & Health Promotion in hopes of pursuing my passion of helping others to live a healthy lifestyle and reach their full potential. God taught me a lot about discipline, dedication, and perseverance being a student athlete. Especially living 3,000 miles away from home.

I graduated in the spring of 2013 and I was truly lucky to intern at world renowned health and human performance center, Fitness Quest 10, in Scripps Ranch, CA. One of the things that makes FQ10 so great is their philosophy of impacting people to make changes that will last a lifetime. This goes hand in hand with my passion to serve others and bring hope to the “least of these.”

After my internship ended, like a lot of post-college graduates chasing after the impossibility of the “American dream”, I was unsatisfied and feeling more lost than ever. Looking for a way to serve around the world, I stumbled upon The World Race website and was instantly hooked and inspired. I could feel God reaching out to me as my heart raced and ached for a chance at this once in a lifetime opportunity! I now realize that His plan for me is far bigger than anything I ever could have imagined.
There is no better time than the present to run my race of destiny vigorously by giving my life away completely to God for Kingdom purpose, to touch nations, and to share His everlasting love with those who need it most.

“Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.”
-Hebrews 12:1-2
