“But if we live in the light, as God is in the light, we can share fellowship with each other. Then the blood of Jesus, God’s Son, cleanses us from every sin. If we say we have no sin, we are fooling ourselves, and the truth is not in us” 1 John 1:7-8

Today is the last day of 2014. My goals for 2015: BE REAL. BE AUTHENTIC.

The wise Rick Warren said it best..

Authentic fellowship is not superficial, surface-level chit-chat. It’s genuine, heart-to-heart, sometimes gut-level sharing. It happens when people get honest about who they are and what is happening in their lives. They share their hurts, reveal their feelings, confess their failures, disclose their doubts, admit their fears, acknowledge their weaknesses, and ask for help and prayer. Authenticity is the exact opposite of what you find in many churches. Instead of an atmosphere of honesty and humility, there is pretending, role-playing, politicking, superficial politeness, and shallow conversation. People wear masks, keep their guard up, and act as if everything is rosy in their lives. These attitudes are the death of real friendship.

Can you imagine how effective the church would be if we were honest and carried one an others burdens? God intends for his church to be a united body, not a cluster of isolated individuals. We will have to accept his call to bear one another’s burdens-even when it’s messy, even when we find ourselves in over our heads. Honestly, I find it difficult to share with others my struggles. Quite frankly, its embarrassing. Becca – Christ = liar, thief, addict, selfish, angry little brat. God began weighing my heart two years ago.. 01/19/2013 to be exact. I began to hate the things I used to love and love the things I used to hate- admittance, honesty, CHANGE. I am not the same me that I was 2 years ago. I stopped living for myself and began delighting myself in The Lord and seeing so many things changed so quickly gave me a hope that anchored my soul to the Truth. The truth that God is alive and moving through all of us, inviting us to a deeper relationship with him and those he placed in our lives.

So, my goal this year is to be honest about what I struggle with so that I don’t become isolated, allowing the enemy to speak lies over the truth that could be spoken to me through mentors and the girlfriends that God placed in my life. God wants to use me in crazy ways in 2015 and I am in serious need of prayer for protection over lies of the enemy and strength to overcome the bait he will try to trap me with as I prepare to leave my family and friends to be the hands and feet of Jesus. Satan sees the beauty that will come from me leaving for The World Race and he will try anything and everything to keep me from going.

Thank you in advance for joining me in prayer-with you on my side and The Lords strength, I WILL be victorious.
