Thanks to all of you supporters, our team has been able to partner with three different ministries so far on this “race”. I hope you realize what a difference you are making! While I typically go for the big picture when sharing about ministry, today I’ll mix it up with a few specific ways that YOUR support is changing lives in the third world.

First let’s talk about Karan. This little fireball is Asha’s latest addition, and had arrived just a few days before our World Race team. Karan was a bundle of energy that didn’t speak a lick of English, but loved to chatt your ear off in Hindi regardless! Since he wasn't enrolled in school like the rest of the kids Karan spent the mornings back at the house with us. At first he was quite the handful, but as the days went by he settled down drastically, and even began to pick up a little English from us and the other children.
Like it or not, Karan was definitely growing on us, and as we dug a little deeper
into why he wasn’t in school we found out it was due finances. Our team was able to use ministry money to get Karan enrolled by the next week. That is all you guys! It would have killed you to see the look on his face when Mr. Sharma brought home his school uniform…absolute joy was radiating from this child’s face. Now he’ll get caught up on his education, both in English and Hindi, and get to share the social experience of attending school with his peers.
My team felt like proud parents when we got to see him off on his first day. He was lookin’ sharp with hair combed, plaid uniform rockin’, and bright purple and pink bag strapped on firmly. I wish you could have been there. It was awesome.
Ano
ther practical way that you helped out this month was providing new glass
es for two children in need. They were so thankful and excited to show off their new frames when they got home. Nothing better than accurate prescriptions! Both of the kids happen to be super quiet, and it’s my hope that these glasses give them a little confidence booster.
Still other ways you blessed them are by getting shoes for kids that needed them, new buckets for washing clothes, and introducing French fries with grilled cheese sandwiches when we cooked lunch for them one afternoon. The kids approved!
So you see, lives are changing in big and small ways every day here because of your commitment to the backing of this trip. Thank you for allowing me to work as the liaison; it is seriously a huge honor.
Right now our squad has gathered for a mini-debrief before we disperse again in Nepal for ministry month four! At this time our teams could mix up in some pretty major ways. Details, you ask? When I know the where, what, and with-who, you will be the first to know!
