Hey Guys!
Where to start? I was born and raised in the Midwest, living in Wisconsin for more of my 23 years. I graduated from the University of Wisconsin, Eau Claire in May, 2010, and am currently working my first, "big-girl job".
I'm quick to smile, always down for an adventure, and strongly believe that positive energy is contagious. Although admittedly corny, my favorite quote is the optimists creed (tweaked just a bit by me):
-
"Be so strong that nothing can disturb your peace of mind.
-
Talk health, happiness, and prosperity to every person you meet.
-
Make all your friends feel there is something in them.
-
Look at the bright side of everything situation.
-
Think only of the best, work only for the best, and expect only the best.
-
Be just as enthusiastic about the success of others as you are about your own.
-
Forget the mistakes of the past and press on to the greater achievements of the future.
-
Have a cheerful attitude at all times and give everyone you meet a genuine smile.
-
Give so much time to the improvement of yourself that you have no time to criticize others.
- Be too large for worry, too strong for fear, and too joyful to let anything bring you down".
Do you know where I found this? A handout at the Minnesota Sate Fair. Haha. But I love it!
Hobbies! Lets talk about them. Aside from the obvious cooking, reading, outdoor activities, spending time with friends, etc..running "races" has become a recent favorite of mine. Nothing major, just a 5k here and there. I'm training right now for my first half marathon (May 1st) and lets get real honest, I'm worried about it!
In general, I like anything I've never done before, and things that push me outside my comfort zone. (aka living out of a backpack for 11 months)
That's just the tip of the iceberg! Stay tuned for more – subscribe to my blog! Things will get more exciting as the trip approaches and I have more to share. (Bio's are not my strong suit, but we'll get to know eachother better as we go).
I'm super pumped to meet and get to know my July-2 teammates! It's gonna be a wild ride.
