“For He (Jesus) is sent my God. He speaks God’s words, for God gives Him the Spirit without limit.” John 3:34

I read this verse the other day…well I’ve read it before many times, even recently, but for some reason it actually stuck out to me this time. Now I’m no theologian by any means but I found this verse so exciting because we have something that all the people in the Old Testament didn’t have. In the Old Testament God gave His Holy Spirit to many people, but it was always for a limited amount of time and then He withdrew it again. Because Christ had not yet come and lived a perfect life and died for everyone’s sins and then rose from the dead, there was this separation between man and God, even amongst righteous people. Because of this separation, the Holy Spirit was not able to actually live inside of anyone and therefore His anointing would come and go on certain individuals for certain occasions. But because of everything Christ did, we too, like Christ, have been given the Spirit without limit!

Now if that doesn’t make you want to stand up and shout, I don’t know what will! “I also pray that you will understand the incredible greatness of God’s power for us who believe Him. This is the same mighty power that raised Christ from the dead and seated Him in the place of honor at the right hand of God in the heavenly realms” Eph 1: 19-20 Guys, this is the same power, the same Spirit that lives in us…why do we not get that?! I feel like if we really understood this, like really grasped it, it would completely change how we lived our lives. We would be dauntless, courageous, and completely emboldened. We have the unlimited Spirit, the Omnipotent, Sovereign, Creator Spirit living in us…the same power, that literally raised Christ from the dead, living inside of us. What else matters?! Who cares what other people think? Who cares what other people might say? Who cares if you’re scared? Step out and do whatever it is that Christ is calling you to do because He’s not just calling you to do it, He’s living inside of you enabling you to do it and doing it with you.

So, my challenge to you is the same challenge I have for myself…walk in that unlimited, powerful Spirit of Christ everyday. Don’t let anything stop you. There is so much rest and assurance in living this way with Him. There is nothing but complete freedom. And the Kingdom only advances. It’s time to walk in the way in which we have been called. It’s time to be dauntless.
