Ok…So I’m a blogger now….do I know anything about blogging you may ask?…umm, that would be a NO…but I do know a little how to write and I do know how to stay in touch with family and friends…so that’s what this is going to be for me…it’s going to be a very public letter to friends 🙂 If you dont feel like a friend at the beginning of this journey, hopefully you will by the end of it!

So, a little bit about myself. I’m 29 years old (and I’m super excited about turning 30 overseas!…anyone can turn 30 in America…Lame!) I work at Chickfila as a team leader and love the people I work with. There is such a wide range of personalities there that it always makes things interesting, to say the least. I live in Hernando, MS which is one of the cutest towns in the area, in my humble opinion…ever since moving to this area I wanted to live in Hernando, and now I do! I go to Colonial Hills Church where I help with the youth group on Wednesdays and sing on the praise team on Sundays. That sentence sounds so bland to say because in essence that is the heart of what I do. I love my church so very much, it has had one of the biggest impacts on my life and spiritual growth. A lot of why I am the way that I am is because of the godly people that have poured countless hours into me. I am passionate about investing in others, especially younger people, and sharing the Gospel with both your life and your words…you cant have one without the other.

The other thing I am passionate about is missions. God has placed in me a heart that beats for sharing Christ’s love with people all around the world. I love to see and interact with people from all kinds of different backgrounds and cultures. My family were missionaries to Russia when I was a kid, we lived there for 11 years. So from when I was 5 to 16 I lived somewhere that wasnt my native home but it quickly became my heart home. I guess you could say that missions is in my blood.

All of my family now lives in Mississippi as well. My parents are in the process of starting a ministry called Shepard’s Rest, for people who are in the ministry and need somewhere to get poured into themselves and somewhere to retreat to. My oldest sister ended up marrying my dad’s Russian interpreter and they now have 4 children of their own. My other sister has an adorable 4 month old and my younger brother is a teacher at a middle school.

I have been immeasurably blessed to have the family and close friends that I do…I truly thank God for them on a regular basis and dont know what I would do without them.

So, that’s a little bit about me…hope you weren’t bored to tears…I’ll write more later…but for now, peace out!
