As always, a song to "set the mood."

If you haven’t heard of the book Guys are Waffles, Girls are Spaghetti, that is what my blog title is referencing. Anyway, every week Fernando and I prepare bible study for Destino, and every week I go off on tangents of different topics and bible verses for those topics.. Thus my spaghetti goes all over the place, while Fern is able to just stay on that one “box”; so at times I loose him.

To get to the point, last week we were talking about God’s plans for our lives and this week we are talking about worry.  So, through my spaghetti mind I got to thinking about Psalm 121 and our perspectives.

Psalm 121
1I will lift up my eyes to the hills—
          From whence comes my help?
2My help comes from the LORD,
         Who made heaven and earth.
3He will not allow your foot to be moved;
         He who keeps you will not slumber.
4Behold, He who keeps Israel
         Shall neither slumber nor sleep.
5The LORD is your keeper;
         The LORD is your shade at your right hand.
6The sun shall not strike you by day,
         Nor the moon by night.
7The LORD shall preserve you from all evil;
         He shall preserve your soul.
8The LORD shall preserve your going out and your coming in
         From this time forth, and even forevermore.

What causes our anxieties and worries is that we focus on OURSELVES and not on GOD. Our perspective is messed up. We are looking at things through the lens of “ME” and not the lens of “HE”.

When we pick up those “HE” lenses we see the world in a different light, in light that we shouldn’t be worrying because God is in control. God takes cares birds and flowers (Read Mat 6:25-34), and He promises to take care of us even more so! He loves us so much that “And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself and became obedient to death–even death on a cross!” (Philippians 2:8)

When we take the focus off of ourselves and take a good look at Him we see His goodness and His righteousness and that “His grace is enough” (2 Cor 12:9).

So I leave you all with this, take those “ME” lenses off and put on those “HE” lenses…

Proverbs 3:5-6
Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.

By the way, sorry I have been M.I.A., I have lots of schoolwork to do and midterms are this week for me, EKK! Your prayers are much appreciated.
