Guys, lets be real here.. We all can get ourselves high up on a pedestal sometimes. Yes, it is usually unintentional but nevertheless, up we climb on this ladder that leads to us thinking we are more worthy than others.

ladies and gentleman of the court, I would like to object to this way of thinking.

Don’t get me wrong. I have been there, done that.  I am so guilty of unconsciously looking down my nose at others that I should basically be cuffed and locked away. Humility and realizing that I am not the bee’s-knees is the best thing I have ever done.

BUT THIS IS THE BEST PART. **drum roll**

No matter my past, no matter the words I have spoken, the actions I have done or the thoughts that I have thought.. God has EMBRACED me.

I sit back and think, “My goodness, I have done some horrible things” and God counters back with the forgiveness of all sin. I repeat; ALL SIN.

I would like you all to take a deep breath and prepare yourself for this verse I am about to bless you with, as I was blessed with it.

Ephesians 2;1-6

“It wasn’t so long ago that you were mired in that old stagnant life of sin. You let the world, which doesn’t know the first thing about living, tell you how to live. You filled your lungs with polluted unbelief, and then exhaled disobedience. We all did it, all of us doing what we felt like doing, when we felt like doing it, all of us in the same boat. It’s a wonder God didn’t lose his temper and do away with the whole lot of us. Instead, immense in mercy and with an incredible love, he embraced us. He took our sin-dead lives and made us alive in Christ. He did all this on his own, with no help from us! Then he picked us up and set us down in highest heaven in company with Jesus, our Messiah.”

I don’t know about y’all but I think that is pretty darn amazing.

Because of Christ Jesus, all of us who were once without a clue are now in on everything.

Ephesians 2;16-18

“Christ brought us together through his death on the Cross. The Cross got us to embrace, and that was the end of the hostility. Christ came and preached peace to you outsiders and peace to us insiders. He treated us as equals, and so made us equals. Through him we both share the same Spirit and have equal access to the Father.”

That’s simple enough, right?

We who were lost are now found.

No matter how long we have been in our walk with Christ, WE ARE ALL EQUAL. It doesn’t matter if you have 1 year or 100 years of believing under your belt, Christ loves us all the same.

I am so blessed, WE are so blessed to have a Father that is so gracious and merciful that though we have sinned and continue to sin, he wipes the tears from our faces and embraces us with his LOVE.

I am geeking out over this verse. I am geeking out over God in general, guys.

and you should embrace your inner geek and join me!

Alright, I’m calm.

I want to close out with this last verse from Ephesians 2; 19-22

“You’re no longer wandering exiles. This kingdom of faith is now your home country. You’re no longer strangers or outsiders. You belong here, with as much right to the name Christian as anyone. God is building a home. He’s using us all, irrespective of how we got here.”

I am in awe.

And after reading this, I hope you are too.
