If you would have told me my sophomore year of high school that I would fully dedicate my life to missions and travel across the world to share God’s love I would have laughed in your face. At that time I wouldn’t have thought that I was worthy enough, and that there was no way that any ministry would see potential in me. The summer after my sophomore year I attended National Youth Conference: Challenge Conference in Kansas City. I had never been on a mission trip or any time of trip with my church other than small service projects in my town or around Nebraska. This was something that was totally new to me and honestly.. I was scared. I was in a room of 5,000 people who were on fire for God and had no shame in expressing it. During worship I looked around and began asking myself why I was afraid. In that moment I threw up my hands and decided that it was going to be that week that everything was going to change. I honestly never imagined how much I would change though. The first night we prayed for God to show us what He is calling us to. Of course being a future thinker this is something I always wanted to know. By the end of that week i knew God was calling me to the mission field and that God would take me where he wanted me. So this past summer He took me to New Orleans, where I grew in my faith, and learned so much about family, community, prayer, relationships, and so much more. I really dove into the word and into prayer with those around me. When I returned home though I knew that God was calling me deeper. I knew He was calling me to do more and to go. As I started looking for different mission opportunities The World Race came up. As I began to read about it, and watch videos from former racers, I knew that it was where I was supposed to go. So i prayed and I had others pray for me and with me, knowing that this was a big decision. When I got pure confirmation from God I knew it was time to send in my application. So I did! October 13 is a day that I will never forget! This is the day that I got accepted to The World Race Gap Year. During my time on this trip I will embark on a journey with some amazing people to India, Malaysia and Zambia within a span of 9 months. During these nine months I will be partnering with churches and local ministries preaching the Gospel, planting churches, working in orphanages, ministering to women and children trapped in prostitution as a result of human trafficking, and bringing hope of the Father’s love to people in these countries. I can’t wait to get to next October and I can’t wait to share this journey with each and every one of you! Please keep me in your prayers as I will be fundraising this next year. Also if you would like to support me during this process either financially or in prayer but don’t know how please get in contact with me! I am so thankful God has brought me to where I am and can’t wait to share this with yall!
God Bless! Bailea 🙂
