This past week has gone by so fast! Training camp started Wednesday. I flew in to Atlanta and met up with some of the girls on my squad at the airport. Then we all waited at the airport for a couple of hours, until we got picked up and drove two hours to Gainesville, Georgia for training camp. Training camp was honestly so exhausting we would have to get up early and do sessions all day with very little sleep. I was feeling very homesick at training camp and was emotionally exhausted. But travel day finally came.

We got up early packed up and headed to the airport. We had to take a bus to the international part of the airport and we had the sweetest, funnest bus driver ever she made the ten minute ride so entertaining and fun. So we had to take a picture with her. I ended up getting sick with a cold the last day of training camp so before getting on the 15 hour plane ride. We landed in Seoul, South Korea the next day and only had a 2 hour layover but that airport is absolutely amazing. Then we took the five hour plane ride to Cambodia. When we landed in Cambodia we got our visas and went through customs then got in the vans to drive to Kampong Cham, Cambodia. It was one in the morning when we arrived. We set up our sleeping pads and mosquito nets and went to sleep.

We woke up for our first day. Since the time change they just let us have a chill day. We just hung out around the house and went in the village for a little bit. A couple other girls and I went to meet our next door neighbor Mahtyaa. She is the sweetest little old lady who worked at the orphanage for a while then got very sick. When we meet her she gave us the sweetest hugs and kisses and asked us to pray over her and her heart. She doesn’t speak English but Courtney one of our host translated for us. We hung out with her for about an hour, took pictures and talked, her and her daughter cut off some sugar cane for us. It was so amazing to be around her she was such a sweet soul and just so beautiful.

Later that night Courtney took us to meet the kids at the orphanage they are all different ages from 6 to 21. Cambodia is so beautiful and amazing. Even though I’m still sick I feel so at home and comfortable. Everyone has such beautiful spirits and are so nice I’m so excited to spend this month here getting to know the people and kids. I’m so excited for what is going to happen in Cambodia 🙂
