Our time here in ZA has absolutely flown by. At times it definitely seems like the day I just had was never ending then I realize…HALF MY RACE HAS PASSED. I still can’t comprehend that but it’s really cool to look at all the things the Lord has done and is still doing.
Just to keep you updated this blog is a quick glimpse into a way the Lord revealed Himself recently. This past week was our second debrief which meant seeing the whole squad again and getting to process where I was really at and how everyone else was doing. The coolest things happened but right now I just want to highlight this one moment.
So this past month the Lord put one of my squad-mates on my heart. He’s colorblind (can’t see the color red) and the Lord said “I want you to pray over his eyes and colorblindness”. I had no idea what to do, because even though I have already experienced sight being healed through prayer I kept trying to tell myself this was different. I kept thinking this is a different country, I actually know this guy so what happens if he isn’t healed, this isn’t sight but someone never seeing a certain color. I kept giving all these reasons to say no, and then even being at the point to where I would forget all about it. So finally before the week at debrief I told myself I wasn’t going to leave without saying yes and praying over this guy’s eyes. So one night as we are closing out a session I get a vision on these rocks and then it goes up to my friend standing on top of them looking out at a sunset, and the Lord says it’s gonna happen tonight. So I awkwardly asked Nathan if I could pray over his colorblindness. Now by this time it was dark outside so we couldn’t really see anything. In other words…I was praying over a guy’s eyes when all of us outside couldn’t even see…weird right. Anyways some people from the squad come and join so we huddle up and I get to pray over him. After i’m done praying a guy gets out his phone to try to see if Nathan can see anything red on the screen. We start pointing to apps that have a little bit of red on them and he can’t tell a difference. Then they turn the brightness up on the phone and Nathan starts freaking out. He sees red! So we start going crazy and walk inside to FIND MORE RED! Next thing we know someone walks down the hall in a bright red shirt and Nathan can see the red!
GOD IS SO FREAKING COOL
It was the coolest thing watching the Lord show that He does put things or people on our hearts because He wants to do something with it. Sometimes it may be random but what if it’s not. What if the Lord wants to heal that random person on your mind or for you to just have a conversation with someone. It showed and reminded us of the power of prayer and faith in the Lord. Our God is so much bigger than we can imagine. Our God is so much more present than we tend to realize.
