R O M A N I A
I’m still here in Romania, the most beautiful country I’ve been to yet.
Our ministry in Alba Iulia was cut short due to the Parent Vision Trip (PVT). Since my parents didn’t come, I had the option to either help out behind the scenes of PVT, or go to Bucharest to let the Lord lead us through Ask The Lord (ATL) ministry. The decision wasn’t hard. I’m happy where I am, in Bucharest, staying with three other girls in an air b&b. It’s pleasantly quiet. The Lord put us right next to a beautiful park where we can go running and enjoy the beauty of Spring.
In Alba Iulia God reminded me of what it looks like to worship him through running. I haven’t ran in so long that I forgot how refreshing it is. When I run I often use that time to worship God, and sometimes He gives me the best feeling in the world. So completely overwhelmed with His presence that I forget that I’m running. It’s pretty awesome.
My team stayed at a missions base a little outside the city. It was the nicest place I’ve stayed. We had separate rooms, beds, a kitchen, and a large space to work out. We worked directly with a small church in the area. Our host was a young college student named Zsolt, who spent every single ministry day and adventure day with us. We all got along great, we grew as a team and individually.
We were invited into different homes of families from the church who served us delicious meals, and they were amazing, beautiful people. We passed out invitations to our English classes held at the church. We got to build relationships in the community through ATL. We spent a lot of time in prayer for each other, and for the organizations we were apart of.
Our adventure days included a high ropes course, a trip to the mountains and a frozen lake, a hike to the top of a mountain over looking rolling green hills and valleys, and a trip to a salt mine accompanied with a beautiful nature walk through a canyon with a river and more beautifully bright green rolling hills with herds of sheep and amazing views.
For me in particular, I met many people who I will continue to pray for daily. I had an amazing conversation with a guy who was friends with a girl we met in the city center. She couldn’t make it to our English classes, but told her friend about them. He ended up showing, and he spoke perfect english. So, him and I talked for the whole class. He works a lot and doesn’t get much time for social interaction besides through work. He learned English through watching different comedians, which is why he had such a great accent. He has listened to the range of different American dialects through the different comedians. Genius. This is just one of the many people God brought into my life this month.
Next month my team will be doing Unsung Hero (looking for other ministries to partner with) in Sofia, Bulgaria. Please pray that we can find affordable housing, and that we can build relationships and create more partnerships for future world racers. And in the meantime, pray that this week spent in Bucharest will be fruitful and restful. I’m excited for another month in Eastern Europe before heading off to AFRICA!! —also prayer that I don’t get too ahead of myself, for I am undeniably excited to go to Africa AHHHH. But, I need to stay present.
Thanks for reading, and God Bless!!
p.s. The reason for the title is based off the song “Budapest” by George Ezra… Just in case you didn’t know. Ciao!
