Hello all!

These last three months of the race have been a crazy ride.

As many of you have seen in one of my recent blog posts, we were suppose to spend month 9 in Nicaragua, but due to political unrest and the government denying entrance into the country we spent month 9 in Panama.

So what does that look like for month 11? Well we will have the option to stay in Costa Rica for a second month, or return to Panama. We are all in prayer for what we are to do and I will keep everyone posted.

For this month in Costa Rica we have new teams, a new country, and new ministries.

My team this month includes Megan, Ashlyn, Jessica, Melanie, and Kenadi. We are working with an organization called Transforma.

Transforma is located near San José and was created to provide wholistic transformational development for women who are affected by poverty and social vulnerability.

The purpose of Transforma is to help women find a way to provide for their families. They offer multiple programs for women to enroll in such as sewing, massage, soap making, and manicure. They are also given the opportunity to attend leadership and entrepreneurship courses.

Some things that put Transforma above the rest is that they allow the women to bring their children the Transforma house in order to provide care while the women are attending classes. The women are also able to take the time to walk their children to school in the afternoon if they are of school age. They are offering prenatal counseling courses and have hopes to one day start entrepreneur courses for younger girls to set them up to start their own businesses with their mothers at an earlier age.

This month we are helping with media, hospitality, and building relationships with the women.

We are excited to see what is in store for the rest of this month!
