Blogging has been difficult for me this month. I haven't wanted to blog. I even have internet this month and I just can't seem to want to blog. But here is my feeble attempt to update you on my life his month!
We we about 1.5 hours outside of Cape Town and living 500 meters (I have no idea what that is converted but it's not far whatsoever) from the beach. We are living with a family this month who runs their own ministry. They primarily work in Malawi and Zambia but currently reside in South Africa. My team is with another all girls team this month which has been really fun for us all. We all sleep shoulder to shoulder in a big room and it reminds me of having birthday party sleepovers…But with less popcorn and more sleeping. We are working in a local preschool, at an animal shelter, landscaping to help renovate the back house to an abandoned baby house, and helping care do 2 babies who we living with the family as they are in process of being adopted. We also have time in the afternoons to enjoy the beach and the quaint town!
Life here is very western. Wifi. Coffee shops. The ocean. An abundance of white people. English is spoken everywhere. Makes me miss life in America a little bit more. We also went shark cage diving, hiked Table Mountain, visited Hillsong Church and enjoyed some African flea markets! We've been blessed with beautiful sites an abundance of Vitamin D.
We are headed to Thailand February 1st, with much anticipation for Asia! Perhaps I'll find a little more ability to blog next month. Until next time..
