Dearest Autumn,
You’re getting ready to go on the World Race and that’s amazing. God has called you to do something crazy and you listened. I am proud of you! I know this isn’t easy and sometimes you dont exactly know what you’re doing but good thing you (we?) serve a BIG God who knows exactly what you’re doing. Rest in that the whole 11 months while you’re gone. Here are some things I want to you to do while you’re gone.
1. Fall in love with Jesus.. again. Remember why you decided to be a Christian in the first place. Remember that first time you truly began to be in love with Christ and do it all over again.
2. Get attached and love without hesitation. I know you’re either really good at this or really bad at this. Sometimes you can get so attached to people, that it hurts to leave and you find your self crying in the shower because you long to hold them one more time. You can also get so unattached that you regret not allowing them into your life more. I’m here to tell you to get attached. Fall in love with the little kid who won’t stop pulling your hair, with the homeless man you walk by everyday, get so attached that it hurts. Love all you come in to contact with like you’re going to be with them forever.
3. PREACH. Autumn Graham so help me if you’re asked to preach and you say no. I will be so mad. You never wanted to preach in Africa so you avoided it like the plague but, remember that time you HAD to speak in front of church? Remember how awesome that was? DO IT AGAIN KID. You won’t regret it ever. Just let the Holy Spirit do the talking.
4. Pray for people, for the towns, for the houses. PRAY. More specifically pray out loud. I know you hate it, you get nervous and stumble over your words, work on that. Let go and let God move in you.
5. Learn to truly love yourself for who you are. I know you struggle with loving yourself at times. I know you have self confidence issues, but you were created in the image of God. YOU are not trash, you are beautiful. Embrace it when you’re dirty, smelly and plain gross. Know that God sees you as his beautiful daughter.
Last but way not least.
6. Do something you never thought you would. Remember that time you went on the gorge swing and thought you were going to die? Everyone who has seen the video does, but it was probably the funnest thing you have ever done. Do something totally weird, wether its eating a weird bug, or animal.. jumping off of a cliff. Or hiking up a scary tall mountain. DO IT.
God is going to do something amazing in your life. So buckle up and let God drive.
