Or “hello all of you” in Chichewa!

Today marks one week of being at our ministry site in Lilongwe, Malawi! This month, my team and I are partnering with Youth For Christ again. We were with YFC in Zimbabwe and we LOVED it, so we are stoked to be serving alongside the same organization for our last month in Africa! However, this time around, YFC is a new-ish organization in Malawi. I say “new-ish” because the organization itself has been here for a while, but it has recently been taken over by new leadership and is having to be rebuilt from the ground up.

So this month we will be doing a lot of teaching on things like evangelism, worship, Bible study, how to reach youth, etc. We will work together with the new Malawi leadership, Edward, and our Zimbabwe host, Sheunesu (he is the director for YFC in southern Africa. We will help to establish a team of leaders and help develop programs for youth to attend.

This week was a week of settling in for us and getting to know the area and meeting people already connected with YFC. We are living in the CUTEST little house. (It’s the first month to have a space just for our team!) Our house has 2 bedrooms, an actual shower (praise God for no bucket showers this month!!!), electricity and water all the time, and an adorable kitchen and dining room. Our team feels extremely spoiled this month!

I am expectant for this month and what the Lord has for us. My word for this is month is joy and I am pressing in hard to it. Learning to have joy when it rains right after I hang my clothes on the line, joy when plans are constantly changing, joy when we have good days, joy when days are hard, etc. Last month I allowed the enemy to take my joy, so this month I am determined to live in the overflow of it!

Thank you all for your continued support!

Much love,
AC 🙂

P.S. Check out this video made by my teammate, Haley, for a look into our home for the month!
