Hello, friends! Welcome to my first blog of 2019! Today’s thought is brought to you by my morning devotion on the story of Noah, and how in 2019, I pray that I learn to be more like Noah.

This is the account of Noah and his family. Noah was a righteous man, the only blameless person living on earth at the time, and he walked in close fellowship with God.” Genesis 6:9

“Build a large boat from cypress wood and waterproof it with tar, inside and out. Then construct decks and stalls throughout its interior. Make the boat 450 feet long, 75 feet wide, and 45 feet high. Leave an 18-inch opening below the roof all the way around the boat. Put the door on the side, and build three decks inside the boat—lower, middle, and upper.“Look! I am about to cover the earth with a flood that will destroy every living thing that breathes. Everything on earth will die.But I will confirm my covenant with you. So enter the boat—you and your wife and your sons and their wives.  Bring a pair of every kind of animal—a male and a female—into the boat with you to keep them alive during the flood. Pairs of every kind of bird, and every kind of animal, and every kind of small animal that scurries along the ground, will come to you to be kept alive. And be sure to take on board enough food for your family and for all the animals.” So Noah did everything exactly as God had commanded him.” Genesis 6:14-22

“When everything was ready, the LORD said to Noah, “Go into the boat with all your family, for among all the people of the earth, I can see that you alone are righteous. Take with you seven pairs—male and female—of each animal I have approved for eating and for sacrifice, and take one pair of each of the others. Also take seven pairs of every kind of bird. There must be a male and a female in each pair to ensure that all life will survive on the earth after the flood.  Seven days from now I will make the rains pour down on the earth. And it will rain for forty days and forty nights, until I have wiped from the earth all the living things I have created.” So Noah did everything as the LORD commanded him.” Genesis 7:1-5

I know, I know. I’m taking you back to Sunday School with this story, but this morning, as I was reading, the Lord convicted me.

You see, Noah, was a man “that walked in close fellowship with God”. So, when God spoke to Noah, Noah just did as he was told, and did not question the Word of God.

There was no sign of rain, but the Lord told Noah to build a boat. In the natural, it did not make a bit of sense, but what did Noah do? He built a boat. Despite the criticism I’m sure he received from friends and family.

The Lord told Noah to get on the boat 7 days before the first drop of rain started. What did Noah do? He got on the boat with his family and every creature the Lord commanded.

What a man of faith Noah was!

You know how the story ends, the rain came and it rained for 40 days & nights, and Noah’s family was spared from the flood.

But what I love most about Noah’s story is how much faith he had in the Lord. When the Lord spoke, Noah listened and did not question in doubt. He just took the Lord at His Word and carried out what He was commanded.

The Lord has always been faithful and He has never went back on His Word in my life, so why do I sometimes still doubt Him when He speaks?

In 2019, my prayer is that I would become more like Noah. Taking the Lord at His Word and believing that every promise He has spoken to me will come to pass. I want to be a woman of faith that believes wholeheartedly, with no hesitation, that the Lord will do exactly what He says He will.

I encourage you to do the same!

P.S. Thank you all that has supported me on the journey so far! I have officially hit my first goal of $5,000! However, I am still in need of $14,200 to be fully funded. I believe the Lord has put this dream in my heart to carry the Gospel to the nations, and I choose to believe that He will provide every need. 🙂

If you feel led to give, you can give through this blog by hitting the “Donate Now!” button. I appreciate you all more than you know and continue praying me and my squad as we are preparing to launch in August!

much love,
