Wow! Thanksgiving is here already! Thanksgiving has always been my favorite holiday because it’s a day where everyone in my family comes together to share a meal and just reflect on all we are thankful for. However, this year will be a little different for me in a lot of ways. First, this will be the first holiday that I have not been at home for, but don’t worry, my team is definitely going to celebrate! Secondly, it’s been almost a year since my sweet Granny Faye went to be with Jesus (Thanksgiving was our last holiday with her, and she passed a few days after). What I would give though to be home with Cody and my family for this special holiday, however, I am in Malawi with my incredible team!

I give thanks every day, but here is a list of things I have been extremely thankful for this month (along with so many other things):

-Jesus…..obviously! But really, without Him, I would not be in Malawi living out one of my biggest dreams of sharing His love in the nations.
– My family!
– Cody 🙂
-Team Overflow (Teammates that have become my family over the last 3.5 months!)
-REAL towels!!!! (This is definitely something I didn’t think I would miss from home, but they are a luxury on the Race.)
-My super comfy bed!
-Electricity!!! (For the last 2 months, we had 15-16 hour power outages every day, so my team is spoiled this month with electricity all day!)
– An actual shower! (No buckets showers for us!)
– Cooler weather (Don’t get me wrong, it’s still warm, but not 105-106 degrees like Zambia)
-To have been born and raised in America (We are blessed, y’all!)
-Our fan! (We don’t have to sweat when we sleep anymore, PRAISE!)
-Facetime
-Tacos (We didn’t get them at all last month, but we get to cook our own food this month & they are my meal choice on my night every week!)
-Youth For Christ Malawi & our sweet hosts
-My time in Africa

I hope everyone has a blessed Thanksgiving! 🙂

Much love,
AC

P.S. We leave Africa next week and head to ASIA! 4 months has flown by!
P.P.S. I will post another blog soon updating on our time in Malawi and different ministry things, so be on the lookout!
