With less than a week remaining here in Bohol, Philippines there is still an endless amount of opportunity to serve. My minds goes into a trance about this time every month before we leave thinking about what it would look like if I moved here.  My prayer is that I would not focus on the “what ifs” but rather “God lead me.”  Yes it is only the end of month three and people are beginning to ask what’s next after the race.  So many times I get caught up on God’s will for my life that my mind begins to wonder back to the “what ifs.”  What if I moved here, what would I do, how can I benefit the Kingdom, what would I do for money, where would I live? These questions basically get you know where but one thing I know for sure is that wherever we are, we are called to make disciples.
With each month of ministry I am understanding more and more that we are all created with unique talents and passions that God desires us to use for His Kingdom.  Most of you who know me personally would probably agree with me that I am not the most passionate person about one particular thing.  There are many things that I enjoy but nothing Im really a fanatic about.  In comparison there are people who yell and scream for their favorite sports team and those who camp out for days for the latest piece of technology.  It is not that I do not enjoy sports or technology its just not something I am passionate about.  I was asked a simple question this week (thanks Tanna!) that really got me thinking… “what is one thing you could not live without?”  Well I had a really hard time answering this question for the reason that I am just simply not “crazy” about much.  The question was then rephrased, “what is something that, if taken away from you, would not make you yourself?”  Hummm…. well is this not the same question?  Yes it is but it made me think in a different way and my answer was people.  Weird answer, right? Well, for me, if you took away relationships and the ability to talk to people then I would not be myself because I thrive by meeting people and learning from them.  I fully believe that this is one thing I will use for the Kingdom.  Why people you ask?
My desire is to see each and every person I know unleash their God given talents and use them for the Kingdom! I ask you, what is your passion? How are you using your talents to serve God? I want to see people grow in Christ and not in themselves. I want to see people give their entire lives to Christ not just part of it.  I want to see people who are uncomfortable with just going to church on Sundays actually make a move to do more. I want to see high school students encouraged and discipled so that they can know they can make a difference. I want to see people my age excited about their work and not miserable because they are trying live up to what the world thinks.
So whether I am here in the Philippines, back in the States with you, or somewhere else on this earth, I will make disciples. Malaysia is our next destination so watch out for more things to come! Until then I ask that you unleash the freedom that God has given you!

Much love,

Auston
