For the past few years I have been going to the University of West Georgia and during this time I was always trying to find my acceptance in starting businesses and getting money. Until this year I realized that I don’t need to do this to find acceptance because my God accepts me for who I am already. I no longer want or need to be a millionaire to be accepted. When I finally realized this, I started to think about where my life was going and what I was working towards only then did I see that it was all for selfish reasons and not for the Glory of God. So, I began to redirect my life towards Christ and building up not only my relationship again but also my community in the church. I began going to Woodstock City Church at 11am with my small group, Passion City Church at 5pm with a few people I met there, and then I would go to Grace Midtown at 7pm and hang out with Elyse and she began introducing me to more people.
While I was doing this, I was also trying to figure out where he wanted me to go and which direction he wanted to take my life. Then I had a flight up to Chicago this past May of 2017 and that is when I completely turned my life around and gave everything to him. I then was filled with a fire to go to different countries and really make an impact. While I was in Chicago I had a lot of time by myself to wonder and think about a lot of things while my Mom was working. I began to look up mission trips and figuring out which one God wanted me to go on. Before this trip to Chicago I talked to one of my best friends Josh Shulz and he was talking about taking a yearlong trip full of mission work and this sounded like a fantastic idea to me. Then I saw one of my friends going on the World Race while I was looking through Instagram one day sitting at a donut shop in Chicago. So I began to look up what the World Race was.
The World Race is an 11-month mission trip that goes to 11 different countries. Once I saw that it was 11 months and that is what I was looking for I began doing research on if people enjoyed the race and what it was all about. When I began to read the reviews, they said that they enjoyed it and that it was a life changing experience. Another thing that stood out to me was that the World Race is not only a missionary trip but it is also a discipleship program. So, I began my application process and I got accepted! Thus, begging my journey to go on the world race and the mission trip of a life time.
Now it is time to raise $18,100 so I can go on this journey and I truly put all my trust into Christ and my heavenly Father that he will provide this money so I will be able to go. With this being said please keep me and my team in your prayers that we all will get the money that we need to go and be laborers of Christ. Thank you for taking the time to read about part of my story and why I am going on the World Race.
Luke 10:2
“The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the lord of the harvest, therefore, send out workers into his harvest field”
