Hey friends! I am writing this to share the amazing opportunity I have received, the start of the process, and what it will look like from my perspective during the time of the World Race.
What is the World Race?
The World Race is an unfolding journey to serve “the least of these” while amongst a real and raw community of peers. This unique mission trip is a challenging adventure for young adults to abandon worldly possessions and a traditional lifestyle in exchange for an understanding that it’s not about you; it’s about the Kingdom.
In September, I will be leaving the United States for 9 months to grow the Kingdom of God. I have been called to share the knowledge and the love of Christ, and the World Race is a gateway to fulfill this calling. In these 9 months, I will be traveling to Thailand, Malaysia, Costa Rica and Ecuador. I will be backpacking through the countries while being in a community with a small group of my peers growing together and showing the love of Jesus.
Why the World Race?
When I was in the 7th grade, I went on my first mission trip to El Salvador and fell in love with missions. It opened my eyes to see that there are people who are struggling every day to support their families without relying on the strength of God because the knowledge of His existence is unknown to them. They feel like they are fighting this terrible world with no one in their corner, but there is! They are just unaware of His name. The Lord is the one who gives strength to the weak and hope to the hopeless, and it is my mission here on Earth to make sure everyone knows of this. So when I heard about the World Race, I had to jump on board because this is exactly what I have been called to do. This opportunity will allow me to share Jesus with the world and bring strength to the weak and hope to the hopeless.
What can you do to help here at home?
While preparing for this journey I ask two things that you can do for me as I prepare for my journey.
First, pray for me and the people that will be joining me on this adventure. Although this is a great opportunity, there will times of struggle emotionally and physically so we need lots of spiritual guidance and supernatural strength to carry us through.
Secondly, World Race sets a goal for each participate to reach before we can go on the mission trip. These funds help to pay for expenses incurred for those 9 months. I need you, the community, to assist with support in reaching this financial goal. Any amount given is greatly appreciated and tax deductible.
Romans 10:13-15 says, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? How can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? How can they hear without someone preaching to them? How can anyone preach unless they are sent?
It is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!” and “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” Thank you for being a part of fulfilling the scripture by supporting me in the call I firmly believe…being a disciple for Christ.
