So you saw my pics and where yet curious again to read what I have to say ( pictures on Instagram if you didn’t see). So based on the title of this blog some of you may know from my last post that I said I was leaving Trujillo soon, well it’s true wasn’t lying about that in fact I’m leaving in 30 minutes just thought I‘d Wright something before I go. However I will try to keep it short like last time again to many stories to share hear but look forward to sharing them with you when I get home. The amount of relationships I made in just a month and a half is far more than I would’ve expected (especially since my Spanish is no bueno, but it’s gotten a lot better). One of the biggest things I learned from this trip is that you don’t actually have to speak the language to make a difference. Sometimes the biggest difference you can make is by simply putting a smile on someone else’s face. That has not been more true with my time here. I will miss the soccer and volleyball matches with the locals and the friendly smack talk. I will miss them making fun of my Spanish when I try to smack talk back. And I will miss my hosts Joel and Mariah, and thank them for all the laughs and jokes. We might have not done anything crazy for them (like painting black and blue lines for a week, or sitting at a laminator machine, laminating things for the teachers). But that doesn’t matter. God is in all the simple deeds we do. A dear sister of mine gave me some advice before I left “ somedays you might just be pulling weeds or mopping floors but give it all you got“. It’s the simple things that in the big picture make all the difference. Anyways just thought I would share that here (sorry a little long, if you read this whole thing and your not my mom again WOW). That’s all I have for now adios.
