Hi! Thank you so much for taking the time to visit our blog and get to know us. Whether you are family, friend, or stranger we are glad you are here. We feel blessed that you would take time to read our words.

A little bit about us. We are Austin and Ally Roeda, natives to Utah and Washington state respectively, currently calling River Oaks, Texas home. We have been married for a little over 3 years, but have been on a journey together since 2012.

Together we are adventurous spirits that love Jesus and want to be and go where He is. That love has led us to call three places home in our three years of marriage, sustained us both through graduate school, and has lead us to this place of yearning to engage with the church on a global level. We dive into anything outdoors, hiking, backpacking, kayaking, you name it, we’ll do it! We love our Texas people, but we miss our mountains.

A little about Austin (written by Ally). Austin brings life to wherever he goes. His spirit is contagious. He loves with his whole heart and wants nothing more than to connect with people on a deep level and ask the hard questions. He is thoughtful. He is intentional. He is authentic. I am so blessed to be his wife. He loves Texas football. Forever loyal to the Longhorns and Cowboys. Actually, he loves all football and professional basketball for that matter. You can often find him listening to audible books, catching up on all things espn, or working out at crossfit, and he loves a good game of Settlers of Catan or Super Smash Bros. He is a masters prepared Athletic Trainer and has a heart to see athletes find their identity in Christ. He is a gifted leader and pours out encouragement daily to those around him. He is so smart and driven, yet lives with a spirit of humility because he knows without the Lord, he is nothing. I know the Lord will use his story of redemption powerfully during this year of ministry and intentional community.

A little about Ally (written by Austin). Ally is a tender heart and loves all things organic. She is the first person to step up to volunteer or try something new. She enjoys cooking and creating things from recipes for amazing meals to her homemade hygiene products. Ally is absolutely captivated by the outdoors, especially the mountains. She enjoys spending time journaling and drinking coffee. She is very active and loves to challenge herself in crossfit, hiking, running, or anything that tests her physically. She loves her friends and family with all of her heart, it is one of her greatest gifts from the Lord. She is able to see the broken and hurting people in the world when others choose to walk by. Her heart goes out to them and she always reacts immediately and with a sense of urgency. I am so fortunate to call Ally my wife, she brings out the best in me, as she does with all people around her. These qualities and characteristics serve her so well in her profession of nursing. She has an immense heart for premature babies and the families that they are born into. She often spends many hours on her shifts in the NICU bathing these sick and small babies in worship and prayer. Ally is a gifted fiddle player and can make the birds sing with her. Ally is truly marked by the Lord and seeks to share His love with all of those she spends time with. During this special year of intentional ministry she will be a blessing and a breath of cool fresh air.

We are the Roeda’s and we are so thankful to be here.
