The life of a missionary is not always glamorous and exciting. This past year I lived the part of being a world missionary and I loved it. I experienced new and exciting things each month, new people, new places, new languages and food.

However now I am experiencing another side to being a missionary. The side that not many talk about.

The preparation.
The waiting.
The discernment.

Post World Race I knew that God was calling to be a missionary full time…. I just didn’t know what that looked like.

I knew He didn’t want me to just stand still, which is why He called me to the Center for Global Action in Gainesville, GA for one year.

A place where the Lord can groom me for the life He has waiting for me.

At CGA I get community, discipleship, and help in discerning what God is calling to for my life’s work.

I also get to inspire and speak life into those who are looking into doing missions work themselves. I get to do this because I work in the Admissions Department at Adventures in Missions from 9am-12:30 Mon-Friday.

As a CGA student we all work in the Adventures offices in the morning and then in the afternoon we have classes on things such as Community Development, Biblical Foundations and Finding your Calling.

One thing I did not expect was to get so much out of working in the Adventures offices.

I realized when they placed me in Admissions that this was where I was created to be .

When I look back on my life I realize that I am most fulfilled when Loving, Serving and Leading others. Admissions allows me to do that and more!

Each day I come into work and start by emailing those who have shown some sort of interest in one of Adventures many missions programs. I then get to call people to ask if they have any questions and to encourage them in their decisions to go on a missions trip.

I get to speak life and truth into people’s lives.

I get to spread the kingdom to people all over the US who are hungry for a missions experience. Hungry for more of Him.

I get to see the potential in people’s lives, the potential for Christ to work in their lives. I get to encourage them in their walk with Christ, empowering them in their own lives to glorify God with their story.

Just the other day I interviewed someone who is applying for The World Race and several times I was able to stop him in what He was saying and Speak life into him. I got to tell him that there is no shame in his past because shame does not come from our Father.  I got to tell him that there is redemption in Christ our Father and that he has been washed clean because of the Son.

I get to do what I did on the race. I’m not holding orphans and playing with babies, but I am still doing the Lords work. It just looks a little different.

How is the life you’re living impacting the Kingdom here on earth?
